Our Story
We love to travel and explore our great country. That part is simple. What’s not so simple is how to make the best use of our vacation time and money. With busy schedules and responsibilities of family life, we’ve found that our resources are precious. We need to make the most of our planning and travel time as well as our budget. We think we’ve found the perfect way. Now, we want to share what we’ve learned with others.
GuidepostUSA is a new and innovative website that allows tourists to easily learn about attractions, services and events along their travel route.
Before GuidepostUSA, tourists often relied on information found at visitors’ centers and hotels. Believe us when we say we spent lots of time searching for fun places to go while reading through magazines, brochures and booklets. In fact, that’s how GuidepostUSA came to be. One of our more memorable trips happened a few years ago. We had some extra time on the way to our destination and stopped at an interstate visitors’ center. We began browsing through racks and racks of publications on every topic and interest from trout fishing and wax museums, to a fudge factory and a tacky tie store – trying to decide what to see and do. Before long, the kids were crying, we were drained, and we were starting to regret going anywhere at all! Sometimes it seemed that the best places were those that we stumbled upon accidentally.
So, we developed Guidepost USA, a website that allows tourists to easily search - at their leisure - for destinations and events by topic, location, and even the nearest interstate. Results can then be sorted in many ways (a feature we have only rarely found on other travel sites.) If we had access to GuidepostUSA on previous trips, we would have saved so much time and sanity AND found just what we were looking for!
Try GuidepostUSA for your next trip. Or if you are in the tourism industry, make sure to list your area’s attractions and events on GuidepostUSA so we can connect you with others like us. Then let us know what you think. We want to hear what helped and what didn’t. And please tell your friends about us too.
Thanks for visiting. Stop by anytime!
